INDOOR TRIPLES CHAMPIONS

On Saturday, eighteen indoor bowlers played three games of triples to determine the club champion triples team for the 2010 season.  The winning team, with three wins and a total of 42 shots up, was Marion Empy(skip), Marge Price and Val Haag.  In their first game they played Enid May(skip), Bettie Brown and Kevin Dows.  Marion’s team started this game strongly and led 8/1 after four ends.  Both teams then won four of the remaining ends but Marion’s team had multiple scores on the ends they won to increase their lead and win the game 21/6.  In their second game Marion’s team played Joy Weston(skip), Maureen Cromie and Willis Brown.  This was initially an even game with Marion’s team leading 7/5 after nine ends.  However, Marion’s team scored 6 shots on the tenth end to go on and win the game 14/7.  In their third game Marion’s team played Yvonne Dows(skip), Muriel Horsburgh and A. Degan.  Marion’s team started this game very strongly and led 21/0 after eight ends.  They then went on to maintain the lead and win the game 23/3.
