On Thursday 12^th November, sixty bowlers from the Albury Commercial, Moira, Mooroopna Golf, Stanhope, Wangaratta, Euroa, Tocumwal and Benalla clubs played ten ends of 2x4x2 pairs, ten ends of three bowl pairs and fifteen ends of two bowl pairs in the L.J. Hooker medley mixed pairs in hot weather.  Bob Bunting and Norma Heffernan, Bob Sutherland and Gail Banfield and Ron and Joy Weston had three wins for the day.  Consequenty there was a three end playoff to decide the winner.  In the first playoff Bob and Gail played Ron and Joy Weston and won 5/0.  In the final playoff, Bob and Gail played Bob and Norma.  Bob and Norma won the playoff 2/1.

In the first round of the event, Bob and Norma played Ian Cooper and Andrea Brown.  Bob and Norma started this game very strongly and led 8/0 after four ends.  However, the remainder of the game was even and Bob and Norma won 13/5.  In the second round, Bob and Norma played L. and G. Murphy from the Albury Commercial Club.  Once again Bob and Norma started well and then maintained their lead to win the game 15/5.  In the third game, Bob and Norma played Graham Moore and Lynda Arthur.  Bob and Norma maintained the pattern and led 6/0 after four ends and then went on to win the game 14/11.
